Ok, so spoke to the dealer. They have confirmed it will be June. As promised. Mid June to be precise. 😁. So 3 weeks away. Tick tock. No horror stories about slippage for delivery.
Ordered parts From Evotech arrived today. So all in all, things looking pretty good.
love this forum. I have learnt so much since being here. 🙏

I’ve emailed and have talked with Ducati North America Rep last month, I want the Base Red V2 with the 17” wheels!
DNAR said this bike is only offered in Europe! And 70% of Ducati’s sales are the Multistrada in the U.S.. I’m just looking for a good touring bike with upright riding.
Ask if I could order the European bike but because of U.S. DOT laws it’s a No Go for the States.

As far as I am aware there is no V2 with 17" wheels in Europe or anywhere else. The V2 - mine is an S, is an excellent touring bike with upright riding already. The wheel size is a positive not a negative as it improves stability. The only Multistradas with 17" wheels are the Pikes Peak variants which are designed to be ultra sporty.

/QUOTE] the Ducati Web site had them saying coming soon! And after talking with North America Rep this was only offered in Europe.
2V in Red is a base model.

Here is the Ducati website: Ducati Europe Sorry, but no 17" wheels.
Both the V2 and the V2S are available in Red. My red V2S is not the base model.

Well I just found out there will be a delay to my June date. Now mid July. Oh well. Mustn’t grumble. It is what it is. Gives me more money in my back pocket for another month !!
If it doesn’t come by July I know there won’t be any manufacturing going on in August. It will be October 😁🤣

I have my fingers crossed for you, but I am sceptical. I ordered my Ducati in April, based on a July build date. I am aware the Italians shutdown for August - this has been going on for as long as I can remember, certainly since the late 80's and as recent as 2016, when I was involved with companies using Italian components as OEM.
I understand April orders are delayed....but no idea fro how long, but if there are a backlog of partly completed machines awaiting parts, then I doubt Ducati will even know when certain model deliveries will happen.
Please keep us posted on your situation Marco, as it will no doubt reflect the reality of things, across Europe at least

Another update. Apparently Ducati computer says July 29th on the system, so soon approaching. So all in all 4.5 months from order. As per previous, dealer will let me know when it gets there. Then a week turn around. Slap bang at the start of my two week summer holiday. You couldn’t script it. Shall I ask them to wait 1 month for new reg to come out. ? :)

Interesting - I really hope the date is honoured for you
My Dealer (UK) has advised that, once build date is notified, delivery to me will be 4-5 weeks from that date ?
So You ordered you MS mid-March, advised mid June delivery, which now seems to be delivery for end of July - so effectively 20 week lead time. I'm thinking Friday 29th July is the last working day for the Factory ....I sincerely hope they come through for you.
As for my order of 30th April, advised as July delivery, still no date ..... I have now resigned myself to the very probable fact, that I may not see my Spring order until the Autumn.

Well here in the states they couldn’t give me a date back in May for a base model V2 in red.
North America Rep wasn’t very helpful and I called Ten dealership here in the U.S..
I bought a BMW F700GS

I read a March dated article, about how Ducati orders were up for 1st Quarter 2022 ... Orders maybe, but Sales would be a better indicator of how production is fairing. I read somewhere else (maybe here ?) that there is a warehouse, I think in continental Europe, where there are thousands of part finished machines awaiting parts. On mentioning this in passing, last time I spoke to my dealer, the comment was not dismissed but somewhat embelished with the reply "...and some of them only needing a single part ...". Sure somebody mentioned somewhere it's ABS sensors or TFT displays ?

Anyhow - factory shutdown is only two weeks away, so with no build date notified to date (was told July before placing order) I know it's not going to happen.

Thing is, I'd much rather the Dealer be honest (or at least realistic) and tell me, rather than me scouring the interweb for others real-life experiences with their orders - I guess they're ultimately fearful of no order placements, or cancellation of existing orders, if realistic ETA's are quoted ....

Another article, posted by a UK Multi-Franchise Dealer in Oct 2021, basically stated that Ducatis & Kawasakis will now only be supplied on a pre-order basis, as both manufacturers would only be fulfilling SOLD orders into 2022 (i'e no dealer stock orders). My nearest Ducati dealer had sold their Streetfighter V4 Demo last autumn and told me they were unable to obtain a replacement Demo unit for 2022 ....so maybe some credence in what the Multi Franchise outfit were posting on their website, 9 months ago ?

I understand & accept he global impact of Covid, and more recently Ukraine, are having on many commodities - had my Dealer informed me in April that, realistically, I wouldn't take delivery of the machine until the Autums, I would have still ordered (where else would I get one from ...!). However, I feel I've been misled with the "July" delivery, when they were fully aware it was unrealistic. I've since asked for an indication of average lead time (order - to - delivery period) on machine they have delivered in 2022 - for me this would give me a for more realistic ETA, accounting for factory shutdown also. However, despite asking 3x, I never got a straight answer....certainly no time periods forthcoming....so they know the July date they gave me wasn't realistic at all.

Not what I expect from a Premium brand .... it's kind of soured the whole "once in a lifetime" purchasing experience.

Sparklyman.

Couldn’t agree more. Well expressed.
I think the issue is that Ducati only manufacture 58,000 bikes globally where as the other brands probably make about 900,000.
It certainly is a premium brand. As For the people selling their bikes, they are certainly not premium yet. It will come.
after ordering the multi-Strada I spent the next month researching everything to the nth degree. I have bought quite a few accessories as well 🤣🤣.
and since then I’ve been reflective and it is all about acceptance. You can’t change the things you cannot change. It will be when it will be.
Otherwise I would have told the dealer to stick it and bought another triumph. But to be honest the triumph dealer was worse than the Ducati dealer!! 1 hr before the test ride of a tiger I was informed it wasn’t available. That’s after they hounded me for 5 weeks to test ride it. Comical. (Quoted me a 4 week wait to replace the rear tyre on my current daily ride) I laughed at him.
Luckily for me I have had a few things to take up my time like getting taken over by a new company, looking for a new job, handing in my resignation and doing a wedding.
If I can do all that why can’t a dealer give a straight answer? No idea. 🤣🤣 they are close to being as bad as estate agents.
being 1/2 Italian I get it. Ducati comes first, then the dealers , probably treated poorly followed by the customer. Communication is never an Italians strong point. 😁😁

Well Praise Be.

Bike will be delivered to my home on August 25th. To recap the order was placed May 7th with estimated delivery June 15th. Four accessories were ordered:
  1. Engine Protection bars
  2. LED aux lights
  3. Heated grips
  4. Center stand
The dealership tells me the heated grips are on back order and will be delivered at first service (Sept/Oct). Until I see bike the cynic in me is suspicious about the centre stand.

A wee side bar, I have owned a 2018 MTS 950 followed by a 2020 MTS 950S and soon to be V2. I am 178cm, (5'10") tall ... wind buffeting never has been a problem. I run the screen in the lowest position.
